Taca Award Preview

Albuquerque, N.M. – CEI is pleased to congratulate Earl Ingram, PhD. on being awarded the 2018 Bob Beard Good Neighbor Award. This award is one of the highest honors presented by the Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association (TACA). The award was presented to Dr. Ingram by Chairwoman Stacey Meyer at the TACA annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas. The award is named in honor of Bob R. Beard, who served as president of TACA from 1987 – 1999. According to TACA, the award is given annually to the person or persons “exemplifying outstanding effort in making the community (our neighbors) more aware of the cooperation from, and the benefits provided by the aggregate and concrete industries in Texas.”

Dr. Ingram has made major contributions to the industry, in Texas and beyond. He served as assistant professor in the Civil Engineering Dept. at the University of Tennessee, where he also earned his doctorate. He became vice president of his family’s business, Ingram Ready Mix, in 2004. Five years later, he became president. While chairman of TACA from 2011-2012, Dr. Ingram attended the first ever graduation ceremony of the Concrete Industry Management program at Texas State University. It is a program he worked hard to help create, and one of only five such programs in the United States. Earl’s father, Bruce, also received the Bob Beard Award in 2003–2004. Bruce Ingram founded Ingram Ready Mix in 1957 with two trucks and a portable plant. Still family owned and operated today, Ingram Ready Mix has grown to be one of the largest concrete producers in Texas. They will soon add two Fusion™ concrete batch plants to their operations.
