In his new role, Gary Catlett will assume responsibility for all aspects of Astec, Inc.’s wood pellet business as well as any other biomass-related business activities that may arise.
Catlett has extensive experience in designing equipment and processes, leading design teams, and managing asphalt, cement and dryer manufacturing businesses. He rejoined Astec, Inc. in 2004. His most recent role has been as Director – Industrial Equipment Design in the Astec, Inc. Engineering Department. He has led the design of much of the Astec Wood Pellet Plant, especially the tube type dryers. The hot oil based drying system is considered to be the heart of the Astec pellet plant and has many advantages over traditional convection drying systems.BACK TO ISSUE
