Astec Industries, Inc., as a major advocate for passage of a long-term transportation solution through its “Don’t Let America Dead End” campaign, is now celebrating a monumental win for the American people. Thousands of letters were sent to Congress urging them to face the infrastructure roadblocks, increase the Highway Trust Fund, and address the nation’s infrastructure crisis. The letters were sent through Astec Industries’ website as part of the campaign and assisted the passing of a long-term highway bill.
“We are grateful to everyone who took action by sending letters through our website and showed their support for all that U.S. infrastructure represents,” said Ben Brock, president and CEO of Astec Industries, Inc. “By continuously reaching out to elected officials, you served as a reminder that the American people want to get on the road to an improved infrastructure.”
Astec Industries’ multi-channel awareness campaign to support the passage of the highway bill started in January 2015 and made it possible for more than 500,000 communications with elected officials. Concerned and active citizens were able to have their opinions heard through an outreach portal.
The effort included print ads in trade publications, as well as a strong social media presence, a video series on YouTube, and a significant presence at the World of Asphalt Conference. All of these initiatives combined not only educated consumers and trade professionals, but also encouraged them to action in support of a sustainable infrastructure solution.BACK TO ISSUE
